A dedicated community advocate with a proven track record of service and leadership, a wealth of experience, and a deep commitment to the betterment of his community, Peterson is eager to bring his passion and expertise to serve the residents of Dane County. A member of the Cottage Grove Village Board since 2021, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and community development.

During his tenure on the Cottage Grove Village Board, Peterson has held several key leadership positions, including the Cottage Grove Fire District Commission, Peer Court Steering Committee, Ad Hoc Housing Committee, Community Development Authority, and Natvig Landfill Monitoring Committee. David also chairs the Aging & Disability Resource Center Governing Board for Dane County.

Additionally, Peterson has been active with the Village library project since 2019, beginning with the Library Planning Committee and later the Library Board. David looks forward to working with Dane County Library Service in continuing to work to overcome issues preventing a physical library in Cottage Grove.
